Ibiza is one the Spanish Balearic Islands and actually has a long history dating back to 654 BC, originally called “Islas Pitiusas" meaning pine tree because of the vegetation that cover the landscape. The main language spoken throughout the island is Catalan but most locals speak English German and French.

The islands main clubbing season is in summer from mid May which is when the opening parties start. The opening parties are a series of parties which are thrown by each club on the island trying to beat the competition for the season and claim the year's best club.

During this time you will find amazing drink specials and the world's most famous DJs who aim to make their opening party the best there is on the island. All through summer there is a fantastic and electrifying atmosphere that captures everyone. From people catching a tan on one of the beautiful beaches to travellers working at the many restaurants and day bars to fund their holiday this atmosphere can be found.

The weather in the summer is packed full with sizzling cloudless days and mild nights. Temperatures during this time average at around 31 degrees during the day and 19 at night, this weather is perfect to just relax and restore energy lost from the hectic night just experienced.

If you aren't one to sit back and lie in the hot Mediterranean sun then the many day bars and restaurants is a perfect place to sit and enjoy a cold beer. From the time you sit down at one of these great spots you will notice the day slowly gather momentum, in the form of promotion people walking the beaches and town paths and promoting the various clubs and drink sponsors handing out their merchandise.

Another way to spend the day is to attend one of the famous secret beach parties thrown by the various clubs, one to mention from last year was Club Azuli, whose party was an amazing success and captained by DJ Dave Piccioni.

Ibiza is home to many clubs ranging in size; the island's biggest club is Privilege and in fact is the world's biggest with a capacity of 4500. Privilege has 14 bars serviced by 220 fun loving staff. The club is split into 3 rooms all playing different selections of music partnered with a show of lights and cinematic screens which complement the music’s beat. 2 shops a restaurant and a swimming pool can all be found inside this immense club.

Another large club is Space which can be found in the bustling Ibiza town. This club is virtually open 7days a week and 22 hours a day, hardcore party animals base themselves at this club. This club is famous for the more ambient and funky tunes on the terrace while you see in the early morning sun. Space is particularly well known for its Sunday clubbing sessions, as this club chose to open doors after all the others closed, which makes for an amazing after party.

While all of the varying rooms in these Ibiza clubs are a clubbers paradise in their own, those party goers who see themselves as the crème de la crème of the clubbing scene will find themselves wishing to be in the many exclusive VIP areas. All of these VIP zones or rooms are guarded by professional doormen and are hosted by friendly, welcoming, and not to mention drop dead gorgeous ladies and gentlemen.

A typical night out clubbing in Ibiza starts off with an evening meal at one of the many beachfront cafes or restaurants. One of the most popular of these spots in which to start your evening is Cafe del Mar on the San Antonio’s famous Sunset Strip. After this move on to one of the British bars where you can get into the party move and grab a couple of pre drinks. Once it is late enough, follow the crowd to one of the hottest clubbing venues in the world, whether it is a club in the town centres, or one located further inland. Here you will experience a clubbing night to remember, possibly the best you ever had. Ibiza does not do anything in connection with clubbing on a small scale. With massive venues, even bigger DJs and the hottest dance music from around the world, set against a gorgeous Mediterranean backdrop, clubbing in Ibiza is sure to take even the most experienced of clubber's breath away.
